Privacy Notice

This page explains what personal information we collect through this website and when you contact us, what we use it for, and the choices you have. We follow Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).

Who we are

Permai Polyclinics Fortuna is a 24-hour clinic at Ground Floor, Lot 3 (DBKK No. 12) Block D2, Lorong Seroja 2, Fortuna Commercial Centre, Mile 2.5, Jalan Penampang, 88200 Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. We are part of the Permai Polyclinics Group. When this notice says "we" or "us", it means our clinic.

What this website collects

The website has no forms, sign-ups or accounts, so you never type your name, IC number or health details into it.

We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they find useful. It uses cookies and collects:

• the pages you view and how long you stay
• your device type, browser and screen size
• your rough location (city or region), worked out from your IP address
• whether you tap our WhatsApp, call, email or directions buttons

We see these figures as totals and trends. They do not tell us who you are.

When you contact us

If you WhatsApp, call or email us, we receive your name, phone number or email address, and whatever you choose to tell us. We use it to answer your question and to arrange your visit. We do not use it for marketing, and we do not sell it.

WhatsApp is run by Meta, so messages sent through it are also covered by WhatsApp's privacy policy.

Please keep detailed medical information for your consultation where you can. It is safer discussed in person with the doctor.

Your health information

Anything you tell our doctors and nurses, and everything in your medical record, is kept confidential. Under the PDPA, health information is sensitive personal data, and we treat it that way.

We share it only when you agree to it, or when the law requires us to. Examples are a specialist or hospital we refer you to, your insurer or panel company when you ask us to bill them, or your employer for a pre-employment medical you have booked.

Medical records are kept for as long as Malaysian law requires, then disposed of securely.

Services from other companies

Some parts of this website are provided by other companies, who have their own privacy policies:

• Google Analytics for the visit figures described above.
• Google Maps for the map on our home page. Google may set its own cookies when the map loads.
• Google Fonts for the lettering on the site.
• GitHub Pages hosts the website and keeps standard technical logs, such as IP addresses, for security.

Our Instagram and Facebook links take you to those sites, where Meta's policies apply. Nothing from them loads on our pages until you tap the link. You can read Google's privacy policy here.

Turning off analytics

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the website will still work normally. To stop Google Analytics on every website, you can install Google's opt-out add-on.

Your rights

Under the PDPA you can:

• ask what personal information we hold about you
• ask us to correct anything that is wrong or out of date
• withdraw your consent, or ask us to stop using your information for a purpose

We may need to confirm who you are first, to protect your records. Some medical records must be kept by law, so we cannot always delete them, but we will tell you if that applies.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
